- Who can attend a Central New York/Oswego County Teacher Center (CNY/OCTC) workshop?
Any educator whose district is a member of the Teacher Center can attend a workshop. Please check our
- How do I register for a workshop?
You register for a workshop via MLP. As of December 2016 The CNY Teacher Center will take registrations via MLP only.
- Where are the workshops located?
The workshops may be located in any of the following locations:
Teacher Center: NYSUT Building @ 4983 Brittonfield Parkway, East Syracuse, NY 13057
CiTi BOCES South Campus: Oswego Co. Industrial Park, 70 Co. Rt. 59, Phoenix, NY 13135
- What if I can’t attend all the sessions of a multi-session workshop?
You may be put on a wait list. If all the seats are not filled, you may be welcome to come with prior permission from the instructor. You would only receive a professional development certificate that reflects the hours you attended.
- How do I get professional development hours?
We process workshop completion certificates based on the sign-in sheets for each workshop session. The certificate will list the workshop title, date, and hours attended for each participant. How the professional development hours are used is based entirely on individual school district’s contracts and policies.
- How will I know if a workshop has been cancelled?
If a workshop is cancelled due to low enrollment you will be notified via email. If a workshop needs to be cancelled due to inclimate weather, please monitor your local TV stations as our cancellations will be aligned with the following: Teacher Center at the NYSUT Site – East Syracuse Minoa Closure; CCC Site in Fulton – Fulton City School District Closure; Oswego BOCES Tech Lab in Mexico – Oswego County BOCES Closure.
- How does “My Learning Plan” work with Teacher Center workshops?
You must register for Teacher Center workshops via MLP. This is to ensure that there is space available to attend the workshop.
